What is a 360 virtual tour?

A virtual tour is made up of multiple images stitched together to form a full 360 by 180 degree panorama view of your space. This image is processed by software that generates interactive media which allows the user to view and navigate your space freely. Additional information like music, hotspots, maps and plans can be added to the tours which aid the user in navigating in a virtual environment. The virtual tour will make the users feel like they are standing within your space.

Where are virtual tours used?

Virtual tours are used to promote your space via online content, whereby the user can visit your location before making decisions to interact with your company. Virtual tours are often used by estate agents to promote your property and allowing potential buyers to navigate seamlessly through web content. Virtual tours can be utilised by various industry sectors. Please visit our industry sectors for inspiration on how a virtual tour would help your company.

How do I navigate the virtual tour?

Virtual tours can be navigated in various methods. Each tour can be either linked via buttons or integrated within the tour via fly-out floor plans, maps, thumbnail buttons or area hotspots. Plans and maps allow the user to orientate their position within your space.

How is information relayed to the users?

Hotspots can be utilised by displaying information to the user. An information icon would be attached to an area within the space, and upon mouse over or button click, will display a text box. Multimedia can also relay information to users via voiceovers, music or sound effects.

Can my virtual tour be viewed without an internet connection?

Yes. At Pano Photography we can create a CD-ROM, DVD, or USB for use without an internet connection. This can either be used for distribution with your brochures or presentations.

What format will my virtual tour be in?

All our tours are produced using the latest software and can be tasked with generating multiple output formats to suit your requirements. The preferred format and most popular (99% of computer users) is FLASH. However we can also generate tours in HTML5, CSS3 and Quicktime format.

How are virtual tours produced?

A virtual tour is created by taking numerous images around a single point covering the full 360 horizontal plain and 180 vertically. The images are taken back to our studio for stitching which forms a 360 panorama photograph of your space. This image is then processed by additional software whereby the virtual tour can be constructed.

What costs are involved?

We have produced a pricing schedule which should provide you with an estimated cost for your project you have in mind. Please contact us to discuss the various options we have to offer, or areas that you are not sure about. We want to provide your company with an affordable quality service, great customer care and overall value for money.

What will I need to do?

Once you commission us to carry out the tour, we would need to arrange a suitable time and date that is convenient for our photographer to call and carry out the shoot. You do not necessarily have to be present during the shoot, provided that you have made prior arrangements for the photographer to have access to the property.

We request that you ensure the space being photographed is how you want it presented within the tour. We recommend that your clear away any unsightly items or objects that can be obstructive before our photographer arrives. Remember, you are trying to showcase your environment to the highest quality.

How long does it take to receive a finished virtual tour?

This will all depend on the complexity of the project. We generally complete a project within 15 days. This is dependant on us receiving all information required for the interactive content and agreed upon any branding requirements. We can provide fast turnarounds for simple tours that require little content. Please contact us to discuss your time frames as we are happy to help meet your requirements and achieve your objectives.

Can you host my virtual tours?

We can provide 1 year’s free hosting with your project, which will allow you to instantly display your company.

How long does it take to shoot a virtual tour?

An individual tour can take approximately 20 – 30 minutes to photograph. There are obviously additional minutes lost between moving rooms and equipment setup. The shooting process is relatively fast, however many hours are spent in production back in the studio ensuring our customers get a quality product.

How do I pay for my virtual tour?

We will invoice you at the end of the project. We currently accept payment by cheque or bank transfer.

How many rooms should I include?

This is dependant on the number of areas that you want to display to your audience. If you only want to display a single space, i.e. showroom or retail store, then a single scene might be sufficient.

However if you require a virtual tour of a three bedroom property, then you might want to consider all bedrooms, bathroom, landing, hall, kitchen, living room, dinning room, conservatory, rear garden, front garden, etc ,etc. This complete tour would consist of twelve scenes seamlessly linked to form one complete 360 virtual tour with floor plans or thumbnail images for navigation.

Can my virtual tour be customised around my company brand?

Yes it can. At Pano Photography we can create a custom skin (GUI - Graphic User Interface) that allows the tour to be interactive with your company brand and website theme. The custom tour skin allows the user to control the environment via buttons for rotating, zooming, full screen and information. Please contact us for the various options available.

How will I receive my virtual tours?

You can receive your completed project via numerous methods. We can supply your project files on CD-ROM, e-mailed direct, or even both. Alternatively we can supply you with login details to access our secure client area, which will enable your company to download the project files and installation instructions direct from our servers.

What is HDR (High Dynamic Range)?

HDR provides a greater dynamic range of luminance between the lightest and darkest areas. HDR images accurately represent the range of intensity levels found in your eyes, and this can be very difficult to replicate with digital photography. This is whereby we use a specialist technique called High Dynamic Range Imaging (HDRI) to replicate this.

The process involves our photographer taking multiple shots of the same arrangement at different exposures, and overlaying them to produce a high dynamic range, which generates inspiring detailed virtual tours  and photography that will stand out above the rest.
